Chris Hornick – President and CEOChris Hornick – President & CEO

Mr. Hornick is a Founders of HBSC and is responsible for setting the overall strategic direction of the Firm. He has a wide variety of experience working with CEOs, CFOs and CIOs in planning and executing mission critical business strategies, operational improvements and organizational change initiatives. Over the past six years he has served clients as interim-CIO, interim-COO and Engagement Director and has helped numerous Fortune 500 companies as well as pre-IPO start-ups.

He has extensive hands-on executive experience in business strategy, technology, operations and general management and has run numerous Enterprise-level Program Management Offices. He has over 16 years of consulting experience working in High-tech, Financial Services and Healthcare and has helped numerous Sales, Finance and IT organizations achieve Sarbanes Oxley compliance. Mr. Hornick has also helped organizations develop innovative product architectures, improve business processes and create highly scalable enterprise architectures. His most recent focus has been working with top-level managers to create high-performance businesses that leverage Web 2.0 technologies, online collaborations and business process outsourcing.

Prior to joining HBSC, Mr. Hornick was an executive at Scient Corporation and PricewaterhouseCoopers, a Senior Financial Analyst at Salomon Brothers and began his career as a Member of Technical Staff at AT&T Bell Laboratories. Mr. Hornick sits on several Advisory Boards of Pre-IPO start-up companies and is a certified PMI/PMP Instructor. He is a graduate of Rutgers University with dual degrees in Computer Science and Economics, holds a Masters Degree in Computer Science and an MBA from Columbia University.

Michael Skeate – Vice President of TechnologyMichael Skeate - Founder, Vice President of Technology

Mr. Skeate is responsible for setting the technology direction of HBS Consulting. He specializes in IT Strategy and architecting enterprise software systems. He has over 15 years of professional experience working as a senior-level technology advisor, enterprise architect, and software product manager. His project experiences cross many different industries including Financial Services, Hi-Tech, E-Business, Telecommunications, as well as with government agencies such as NASA, DOD and DOE.

Mr. Skeate is an expert in methodologies for enterprise software implementation including Rational Unified Process, UML modeling, and Catalysis (a component-based approach). He has expert knowledge of enterprise architecture, middleware, enterprise application integration (EAI), and web services. Mr. Skeate’s other technical interests include Business Intelligence, Decision Science, Soft Computing, BPM and product development. He is a graduate of Harvey Mudd (Claremont Colleges) with an undergraduate and Masters degree in Electrical Engineering. He also holds an MBA in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix.

Cynthia Kilroy - Senior Director - Health Care Strategic Services

Ms. Kilroy has over twenty years of experience as a professional in the healthcare industry working in managed care, hospitals and physician organizations.   Ms. Kilroy has in-depth knowledge of the health care industry including revenue cycle, product development, network development, population management and information technology.  She has assisted organizations in strategic planning, financial analysis, product development, operations restructuring and program management.

Ms. Kilroy has extensive experience in reducing the cost of healthcare through innovative programs that focused on population management, pharmaceutical utilization, physician variation and facility utilization. In 2007, she worked over $90m in healthcare costs.  The strategies focused on network management, product and benefit changes, utilization management, patient channeling and generic pharmaceuticals. Ms. Kilroy has an extensive healthcare IT background including development of IT Strategic Plans, vendor selection, product development and implementing EMR and revenue cycle applications.  She has assisted various healthcare organizations in the development of a corporate-wide IT strategy aligning with the business strategy resulting in a three-year roadmap.

Ms Kilroy was a Senior Manager at Andersen Consulting. Ms. Kilroy was also a full-time participant on the Andersen Consulting team charged with developing a healthcare services venture, in partnership with NationsBank, targeted to physician practice groups. From 1995-1997, Ms. Kilroy worked with KPMG Peat Marwick as a Senior Consultant where she provided expertise in business process redesign and system planning to clients nationwide.  Prior to her career in consulting, Ms. Kilroy worked in healthcare organizations including U.S. Healthcare (Aetna), Mercy Health Plan and McKesson HBO & Company.

Ms. Kilroy received her MBA from Duke University, Fuqua School of Business with a certification in Health Sector Management.  She received her B.S. in Computer Science from DeSales University.

Paul Grantham - Senior Director - Financial Strategic ServicesPaul Grantham - Senior Director - Financial Strategic Services

Mr. Grantham is an experienced systems executive with expertise in information technology, business strategy and operations transformation. He excels at finding innovative ways to exploit technology to reduce costs, generate new revenue and enhance the customer experience. His background in operations and IT allows him to drive significant improvement in new and existing businesses and architect business models that drive profitability. He is extremely effective at delivering high quality software products in fast growing start-ups as well as larger established Enterprises. As an Executive with over 20 years of experience, he has established a successful track record at multiple Fortune 500 companies such as Charles Schwab, Covad, Bank of America, DHL and Xerox and has managed international business operations at several fast growing Financial Services, Telecommunications and Logistics companies.

Mr. Grantham also has expertise in driving large scale organizational change initiatives in diverse multi-national corporations. His technical skills in areas such as Enterprise Architecture, Software Development, Infrastructure Management and Process Improvement enable him to build strong responsive technology organizations that embrace innovation.

Paul received his undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Kalamazoo College, a MS in Mathematics from Michigan State University and has completed Graduate Studies in Computer Science and Operations at the University of California, Berkeley.
