HBSC’s Digital Transformation Practice is seeking a Digital Financial Transformation Consultant to work with our San Francisco Bay Area Clients. The ideal candidate will provide vision and leadership for designing, developing and implementing global information technology solutions. HBSC Digital Transformation Consultants direct the planning and implementation of enterprise ERP systems in support of operational scalability and efficiency. We help improve cost effectiveness, service quality, and de-risk “As Is” business operations. This critical role works as part of a cohesive team and is responsible for all aspects of the organization’s Financial Systems strategy and process improvement efforts.

Working closely with our combined HBSC and Client Teams, you will help design, build and implement strategies that transform overall business performance and the client organization. Our consulting assignments provide the opportunity to align business and financial systems strategy across the Enterprise. This position provides the opportunity to utilize a combination of management consulting, systems integration, financial analysis and technology consulting expertise to tackle complex business challenges.


  • As part of a consulting team, help create an enterprise architectural vision for multiple client organizations
  • Help organizations ideate alternative solutions to solve or optimize complex business and system challenges
  • Help formulate strategic direction with senior management as it relates to Financial systems and the overall Enterprise Architecture
  • Communicate and collaborate with project teams and clients to create, validate, optimize and implement new financial business processes
  • Facilitate solutions discussions with key Client decision-makers and your HBSC Transformation Team

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead project team engagements to deliver a wide range of Digital Finance initiatives that align Finance with the Enterprise Business Strategy
  • Work with Client Executive Management to develop Digital Financial strategies
  • Help define key end-to-end Finance processes (i.e., Procure to Pay, Quote to Cash, Financial Reporting) incorporating process automation, machine learning, and/or AI
  • Support end-to-end Cloud ERP and Middle Office Solutions as part of the broader Digital Finance strategy
  • Develop approaches for implementing digital technology and finance applications to improve operational efficiency, effectiveness and compliance
  • Provide support to HBSC management including developing BD proposals and building strong relationships with clients
  • Demonstrate knowledge of financial regulations, technology and innovations across Finance, Accounting and other Finance touch points (HR, Legal, Operations, Sales etc.)

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working within or supporting clients in Financial Services, Healthcare and/or Hi-tech environments
  • Minimum of 8 years of combined finance / accounting, management and strategic consulting experience
  • Expertise in Business Analysis and Business Process Architecture
  • Solid understanding of the Finance function, operating models and supporting organization structure, and process best practices
  • Project Management expertise including: defining scope, setting project timelines and milestone, driving deliverables, identifying risks, integrating workstreams and managing issues / decisions
  • Minimum 8 years of external consulting experience (Ideally Big 4 or Strategic 3)
  • 10 Years of experience Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Preferred certification: CPA, CMA, CFA, MBA or experience as an Controller or Senior Accountant
  • In depth understanding of regulatory compliance (Sarbanes-Oxley, IFRS, etc.)
  • ERP technology evaluation expertise (Oracle Fusion / Workday / NetSuite)
  • Direct experience in creating business change using Oracle Fusion, PeopleSoft, JDE or NetSuite Financials
  • Oracle, or NetSuite Financials configuration, conversion or detailed process design
  • Experience with Finance technologies such as Tableau, Anaplan, Hyperion, BPC, Anaplan, Fusion, etc.

  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate with clients, lead key requirement workshops and document and prioritize change initiatives
  • Strong competence in developing presentations and facilitating design discussions

  • Highly motivated with the ability to successfully operate in a fast-paced, high energy and team-oriented environments
  • Proven ability to work both creatively and analytically
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to deploy creativity as well as structured decision-making techniques
  • Ability to facilitate Client problem solving sessions

Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with clients individually and as a senior member of an engagement team
